&lt;p&gt;For performance, I prefer the current behavior, so another possibility is a clarifying doc string.&lt;/p&gt;</comment>

Only doc string changes, to make it clear that by sort and sort-by will modify Java arrays given as arguments.&lt;/p&gt;</comment>
